Before you take information from a website, you should check the links, grammar, and information to see if it is realistic.

Make sure that there is no spelling errors and make sure that its in your date ranch. Also if the website is talking about something else than you needed just exit out and try to find a different website.

If you are looking at a website you should always look at the date to see if is outdated or not, you also want to look for the domains so that you can get the correct information you need and you also should look at who created the website.

You need to look at the author, the date (was it updated lately) and use CRAAP. CRAAP stands for Currency, Relevance, Author, Accuracy and Purpose. These will help you evaluate some online contents.

When evaluating information online you should always look out for the domain. The reason for that being if you are doing research you don't want facts from years ago. To check if the information is up to date scroll to the bottom of the page and there should be a date of when it was last updated.

When you`re evaluating online content, you first need to find currency, is everything up to date? You also need to know relevancy, when was it last updated? Who`s the author?, How accurate is this information? Lastly what is the purpose of this content.

I think we should look for the following things when you're evaluating online content:
1) Look and see when it was made because the info might be outdated
2)Check the info and make sure its talking about what you're doing research on
3)Check who the author is or the authority like what is the domain? .com .net .gov?
4) Is the info accurate? Make sure to check
5) what is the purpose? Inform? Pursade?

When you are evaluating a website you need to look for the spelling and grammar and also look for if the site has an author or the name of the person who wrote the information

Reply

One of the important things to look for while you are evaluating the website is to see if it has the creators name. This is important because the person who created the website would put his name on it if the person was proud of it. If the person didn't put their name on it they might not be proud of it and the website might not be a website that you can trust.

When you are evaluating a website is if they have an 'About Us' section. Usually if you have written a website then you would want people to give you credit for it. But if it is a bad website then they probably wouldn't.

Somethings that are important while looking online at websites or pictures to see if there true is that you need to look carefully. What i mean is that if your looking at pictures look for hidden things such as shadows, mouse cursor, or just your gut does it really make sense? When looking at a website you should try and look for an author if they don't put there name in it.

Some important things to notice when you are searching on a website is if the website has been updated meaning if the information they are providing is still new and use full. Another thing to pay attention is if the website has a "about me page" because than you can know if the information is true or not.

You should use the craap test. Check for spelling errors and see if the information is logical. Check the domain of the website. Look to see if there is more opinion than facts. You should go on other sites to see if there is the same info and also is there is a big word you don't understand on the web site than search it up because most of the time the big fancy word is probably the most simplest word ever. Also check the last time it was updated.

The things you should look for to test to see if a website it real is to look for the author or authors that made the site. You also should look for major spelling errors, links that go straight to something about the topic, check for what the website ids actually about especially when they use a strange "scientific" word see if adds are real.
